Delete your account and data

Josie is operated by Laure Santolini and Manon Vervaeke, doing business as Health Surfers, Antwerp, Belgium. This page explains how to delete your account, how to remove individual entries from within the app, and what data is kept after deletion and for how long.

Deleting your account

From inside the app

  1. Open Josie and sign in.
  2. On the Home tab, tap your initials avatar in the top-right corner.
  3. Tap Account.
  4. Scroll to the Danger section and tap Delete account.
  5. Confirm the request.

Your account enters a 30-day grace period after you confirm. During this period, you can cancel the deletion by signing back in. After 30 days, all data is permanently removed and cannot be recovered.

If you cannot sign in

Email support@josie.care from the address linked to your account with the subject line “Account deletion request”. We will verify account ownership and complete the deletion within 7 business days.


What is deleted

When your account is deleted, the following data is permanently removed within 30 days:

  • Your profile: name, email address, country, locale, and birth year
  • All symptom logs and associated notes
  • All medication records and schedules
  • All period and cycle entries
  • All test result entries and any uploaded photos
  • All visit documents and appointment records
  • All Building My Case data
  • Wearable data ingested from Apple Health or Google Health Connect
  • Authentication credentials and sign-in provider links

What is retained

A small amount of data is kept after deletion for legal or operational reasons:

Deleting individual entries

You can remove individual entries from the app at any time without deleting your whole account.

Symptom check-ins, flow, and cramp logs
Open the relevant history list from the Home tab, long-press an entry, and tap Delete. Entries can be edited or deleted within 7 days of logging. After that, they lock to preserve the accuracy of your health record.

Medications and supplements
From the Health tab, open the medication or supplement and tap Delete. There is no time limit on medication deletion.

Test results and body measurements
Open the metric card, long-press the value, and tap Delete. The same 7-day window applies as for symptom logs.

Appointments and visit notes
Open the appointment and tap Delete. Deleting an appointment also removes its associated prep notes and visit document.


Disconnecting wearable data

To stop Josie reading from Apple Health or Google Health Connect without closing your account, go to Profile > Privacy > Wearable data and tap Disconnect. You will be asked whether to keep or delete the wearable data already stored in Josie. Disconnecting stops all future data reading immediately.
